What type of flowers would make a good birthday gift for my girlfriend?

White and Red Roses will do just fine....Good luck brother.

What type of flowers would make a good birthday gift for my girlfriend?
hey beautiful

im sure its not the brand of flowers that will make her happy but itll be you...... so whatever you get her will make her happy... good luck !!!
Reply:Flowers shouldn%26#039;t be used as a gift per se. They should be used as a way to tell the other person that you love her and are thinking about her. You should definitely give them to her, but don%26#039;t let it be the only thing you do. Depending on your depth of affection for her, the type of flowers with change. My boyfriend had to buy flowers for my birthday only ten days after we%26#039;d been dating. He got me pink roses in a heart shaped vase, because I love pink and hearts. We%26#039;ve been dating now for 3 1/2 months and I still remember those roses.
Reply:well the flowers usually accompany the gift.. but orchids are my favorite they are beautiful and exotic... im always impressed if I get these from a man
Reply:This is a personal question, you need to find out what her favourite flowers are.

a lot mentioned tulips, I don%26#039;t like them.

Calla lilies are beautiful, roses is a classic, I love birds of paradise or a nice mixed bouquet is a always a winner too.
Reply:It depends on several things...

How long you are dating for... how much you know her....How does she like.. but above all, put so much love when you but it. I personally should like only one red or white rose and some little but %26quot;touching%26quot; gift , that shows her how much you love and know her
Reply:Calla lilies...

Sentimental and sweet. You probably enjoy a nice walk on a quiet beach with your girl.

5-6 of them tied together with a ribbon, or hemp rope.

Wildflowers...

Adventurous, and out going. You%26#039;re probably not interested in the mundane.

http://www.fotosearch.com/bigcomp.asp?pa...

The more colorful the better.

Roses...

Traditional. You%26#039;re probably a %26quot;dinner and a movie%26quot; type of guy.

No less than a dozen, or you%26#039;ll just look cheap.
Reply:i would terribly appreciate and find it fabulous if my bf of anyone else, collected some flowers from somewhere and brought them to me instead of buying them! it will be really nice! i do it often, i go to Marina Dbayeh and collect some purple and yellow flowers and take them to mom!
Reply:Orchide

Tulipe

Roses
Reply:In my opinion... Give her a good perfume and only one white rose. More romantic.
Reply:ay.. ok I%26#039;m back and I apologise cause I had problems with my computer...

Now the roses!! red, white, pink.... Red are the best and tell the flower person who%26#039;s arranging it not to put so much of the weird stuff that are not needed...

Happy Birthday to her
Reply:Red, Yellow, White, or Pink long stemmed roses.
Reply:flower..r u sure?

Anyway,i like tulip..it looks good..ur girl might gonna like it..Roses are too common now..

and its a good thing to make a change for a while lol...
Reply:I love tulips. Thanks Itay ;D
Reply:Red Pink and white Roses are OK...but Tulips are better

What are great gifts for men just to say i love you, i care, thank you for all you do, have a great day, etc..

Guys aren%26#039;t into the flowers and such as women, so what are some nice gifts or actions to take for no special day...just b/c?

What are great gifts for men just to say i love you, i care, thank you for all you do, have a great day, etc..
Draw a stickman drawing of you and your man in a new and exciting sexual position. On the other side, write about all the great things he does and how you think he%26#039;s just the greatest. Include how hot you think he is and how you want to show him the stickman moves. Tuck it into his briefcase or coat pocket and then be sure to make yourself look stunning that night when he comes home from work. When he gets home, seduce him.
Reply:a kiss and a cuddle are the best gifts... you dont need material thing to show him how much you love him...............
Reply:Guys suck they like expensive gagits, a flower equivalent is more costly for guys. My guy drools over the apple TV, iphone, wii and other pricy gagits.

On the other hand he loves a thoughtful note of %26quot;I love you, you mean so much to me%26quot;. If you want the wow factor go for the present, if you want something more heart felt, make him breakfast and write a card saying you love him.
Reply:Balloon bouquets are great.

I'm thinking of a Mother's day gift. Dont want to give flowers, something different.?

Can you give me some ideas?

I%26#039;m thinking of a Mother%26#039;s day gift. Dont want to give flowers, something different.?
How bout throwing her old arrse down the stairs and locking the door. How%26#039;s that for a tip.
Reply:your mother gave birth to you and helped more rearing you than your father.she loves you more than her own life.im a father but i feel betterknowing my child loves her mom more than me simply because fathers are many but moms are few. now not every man can be a daddy though Report It

Reply:a basket of fruit, wine, a gift certificate for something she likes, maybe surprise her borrow the car get it washed a filled with gas
Reply:I got my mum a new sewing box, it%26#039;s made of leather and is really gorgeous.

Seriously if you don%26#039;t have cash a nice home cooked meal for her and your father would be good. I%26#039;ve done that a few times, a picnic, make something or write a nice poem.

Maybe a pot plant so it doesn%26#039;t die or give a foot rub.

get a blank canvas and make a collage of photos of you and your family.
Reply:a nice vacation or a nice dinner
Reply:It%26#039;s easy to buy a frame to decorate and put a picture of youself and your mom, kids, etc. That way the gift comes from the heart, and has an everyday purpose: to remind her how much you love her.

What can I have delivered to a hospital that isn't food, wine or flowers?!?

My grandfather is in a hospital that doesn%26#039;t allow flowers, and he is too sick for food/drink gifts.

He lives in another country so I%26#039;d like to arrange something to be delivered since I can%26#039;t visit in person, but I can%26#039;t think of anything. I would send a car but it would take too long in the mail.

What can I have delivered to a hospital that isn%26#039;t food, wine or flowers?!?
A Barber Shop Quartet to sing him a nice rousing song.
Reply:Is he expected to come out again? It%26#039;s a delicate matter.
Reply:a beautiful card? a picture of you? a stuffed animal?
Reply:Send him books
Reply:Balloons or you could call a flower shop and explain to them what is going on and they will le tyou know what they have.

Sorry about your grandpa.
Reply:How about a good book to while away the boredom for him.Hope he gets well soon.
Reply:Forget about sending anything, give him a call.
Reply:The best thing you could do would be to write him a brilliant letter, he will read it over and over and treasure it and your love. Material things and his comfort are being dealt with, but your letter will lift his spirits - or could you phone him as well. You sound so caring which makes a change and he is lucky too.
Reply:Card and photoframe with a personal note. But visiting him yourself would mean more to him.
Reply:I think if your Granddad is unwell send a card (with meaning) and write a letter/note to him. It will be better than any gift because he will know you care all those miles away.
Reply:A Teddy Gram (Custom Teddy Bear delivery) or a Singing Telegram Delivery , that might cheer him up and give him a good laugh!
Reply:magazines/books

toiletries (Wet Wipes, shower gel, talc, etc)

CDs

pyjamas

photographs of family
Reply:Use a priority mail service for the card, such as AirSure - takes about 3 days from the UK to most destinations.
Reply:balloons, personalised teddy, photo album, make something for him like a painting or something and sed via a specialist courier company so it wont take long to get there

you could make a tape of his favourite music
Reply:A Vermont Teddy Bear. And I believe you can customize one, too! They are top quality teddy bears and sometimes come with other little gifts. Check out the internet as I%26#039;m sure they have a website, just type vermont teddy bear in the search engine. This way he%26#039;ll have something special to look at that reminds him of you, and depends on how sick he is he can even cuddle with it! :)
Reply:I%26#039;m sure you could find a specialty store that could deliver a gift basket of nice items...maybe a book or some magazines (if he can%26#039;t read for himself, some hospitals have people who volunteer to read to patients), some unscented lotion for his hands or face (hospital air can be drying to the skin). A personalized letter is nice, and some basic necessities, like toothbrush, shampoo, and the like are good because the kinds they have in hospitals are not usually really what most people would pick for themselves. If he likes music, and is able to work with current technologies (or if someone is there who can help him), a personal music player or mp3 player loaded with his type of music would be good, with headphones so he can listen without disturbing other patients.

It%26#039;s nice that you%26#039;re thinking of him...the best gift is to let him know that you care!
Reply:Sorry your grandfather is ill Princess.

Could you try to speak to him. You could call the hospital and tell them you live far away and they might be able to arrange for you to have a few words, to let him know you love him and are thinking of him.

God bless both of you xx.
Reply:Pictures of you %26amp; your family and lots %26amp; lots of cards. Send a parcel [shoebox] and put things like his favourite book, favourite smell and get each and every member of your family to write a note to him to tell him they hope he gets better soon. Let him know that all of you are safe but that you hope he gets better soon.

Put lots of rose petals in there, and simple things such as handkerchiefs and photos - less is more.

I hope this helps you. x

x New York City babe xx
Reply:Nah it won%26#039;t take long, just send the car.
Reply:What kind of hospital can you deliver wine to ? If i get ill i%26#039;m going there!
Reply:How about a portable tape recorder - with a tape with a personal message from you and some of his favourite bits of music recorded on to it.
Reply:clothes, (nice ones!)

things he might like, ie, gifts...

electronic gadgets.....

reading material..

toiletries... anything nice/useful for when you are spending time in hospital.

I want to send a gift to my grandad in the hospital- are flowers OK?

I can%26#039;t send chocolate or wine, as he is too ill for that, so it%26#039;s the only thing I can think of to send, but I%26#039;m never sure whether flowers are OK for a man.

I want to send a gift to my grandad in the hospital- are flowers OK?
Some hospitals don%26#039;t allow flowers on certain wards now, you would be best checking. My partners mum was recently in hospital and she couldn%26#039;t have any on the ward she was on.
Reply:Flowers are fine for a man - just be sure they%26#039;re sent in a vase so there%26#039;s no problem about finding something to put them in or arranging them.
Reply:Flowers are ok if he is no on chemotherapy, if he is not immunosuppressed and if he doesn%26#039;t have MRSa or other bacteria
Reply:Flowers are lovely in a hospital situation, because they bring some life and colour into a room which can be very gloomy.

Bright colours are usually welcome, and try to get an arrangement which comes with its own basket or box, because in many hospitals finding a vase can be a chore.

Best wishes for an improvement in your grandad%26#039;s health! :-)
Reply:Yes, they are a great gift for anyone and will brighten their day just knowing you cared.
Reply:not all hospitals allow flowers to be given to patients since they aren%26#039;t particularly hygenic. You%26#039;ll have to check first with the hospital ward he%26#039;s on.
Reply:Yes, flowers are good.
Reply:Flowers are fine. The best gift you can send him is a big hug and kiss, and tell him that you love him.
Reply:Many hospitals have flower shops on their premises. Check to see if they can do this online.
Reply:he will love them

i know we guys aint supposed to like flowers but secretly most of us do

all the best

Ian
Reply:What a lovely thought, but you had better check with the Hospital first as a lot will not allow flowers any more for MRSA purposes. A card will give as much pleasure.

Hope he recovers soon.
Reply:PLEASE PLEASE DONT SEND FLOWERS INTO A HOSPITAL.

I know it seems like the right thing to do, but it is a sure way to piss off all the nurses.

Also, they are a health risk.

Nurses are not florests, they are not there to take care of patients flowers - they are there to take care of the patients.

Why dont you buy him a cheap personal CD player and some of his favourite music.
Reply:yes flowers are fine
Reply:It%26#039;s best to not send flowers as they%26#039;re not allowed in many wards, particularly those with patients suffering from cancer. Send your grandad a card together with a handwritten letter showing how much you are thinking of him.
Reply:Flowers collect dust and germs send acard!
Reply:how about a basket of mixed fruit instead.

Clueless about the timing and buying gifts and stuff when in a relationship?

I been in a relationship with a friend for a month and a half and I still haven%26#039;t gotten her anything special in specific... the only thing I done so far is getting her tickets for Tyra Bank show which she likes..

My question is... how often should a guy buy gifts to their gf%26#039;s in random besides special days (bday, valentimes, christmas etc.)... I know it really depends whenever one feels like but the thing is, being the first time in a relationship I dont know what is the balance between showering one with too many gifts and or not doing enough. Also what about flowers and anniverseries?

Clueless about the timing and buying gifts and stuff when in a relationship?
Relax, the secert is to... LISTEN!!! Thats right, its not easy. But lets say... she says something to the effect %26quot;Man I just feel down today, man I just don%26#039;t know whats up I love you thou%26quot; buy her some flowers. If she says something like %26quot;Man I sure love those %26quot;such and such%26quot; from %26quot;so and so%26quot;, get her some the next day or a day or two down the line. Or lets say a few weeks ago she said something about well that one place, or going to the libaray, or never being to there, take her. Its really about listening.... good luck! Its not easy ;-)

What would you rather receive as a gift for a special occasion, flowers or a plant?

flowers are so nice, but they die, and you throw them away.

plants are cool, because you keep them and keep getting reminded of the reason why you got it. so....id have to go with a plant. but not just any ole plant, make it a nice one!

What would you rather receive as a gift for a special occasion, flowers or a plant?
I like plants as gifts, but if it%26#039;s a formal occasion potted plants are out of the question, better get the floral arrangement for graduations and such.

But if your giving the gift at home or somewhere when no one really knows your giving or cares then plants are the way to go. I give hanging plants to all the special mothers in my family for Mother%26#039;s Day. They love them and I love seeing them on their porches later in summer when they are huge and blooming.

....I prefer plants, firstly, because they don%26#039;t smell like a funeral parlor. Secondly, because they can last a lifetime. Flowers wither within 2 or 3 days, bummer for all the cash ya just flushed.
Reply:a plant, then I can be reminded of my special occasion each time I see the plant. Flowers die after a week or two.
Reply:Flowers, but only SILK! I have 30 cats, so I can%26#039;t have a plant, however, if it was a SILK plant, I%26#039;d love it cause silk plants look so real but are too expensive!
Reply:Flowers! I have too many plants already.
Reply:These are both pretty boring. If that%26#039;s it .. I%26#039;ll take the plant. I%26#039;d rather get a Swiss Army Knife or Multi-tool, a nice fountain pen, a couple of passes to the movies or gift certificate to Barnes and Noble.
Reply:depends on what would be sent and for what occasion. being a florist i would rather recieve a gift basket.
Reply:a plant ...flowers die in few hours ..plant has longer life *-*

Which flowers are a better Valentines day Gift?????????

I was thinking of putting a nice vase with a dozen roses on my GF%26#039;s piano...

Which flowers are a better Valentines day Gift?????????
I think that is a great idea...roses are always nice to recieve. They might be commun to some but they are still a special kind of flower with lots of meaning ^^.

Take care.
Reply:a dozen Iris flowers, better touch......roses are played out.
Reply:red roses are classic, but if you want to be different, try daisies. they%26#039;re my fav. cause they come in so many pretty colors
Reply:Anything but roses.... Roses are totally cliche and totally over-priced on Valentine%26#039;s day. The absolute best idea is to subtly find out what her favourite flower is, and then get the florist to make up a bunch for you - with her fav as the primary flower. This way, you can also control the price... you decide how big the bunch is and you decide how many of her fav flowers there should be.... even personalise it a little more by doing something symbolic - like one flower for each month or year you%26#039;ve been together... she%26#039;ll love the extra thought if you bring it to her attention in a personalised card!

Good luck!

Gifts for children in the bridal party?

I am getting my bridesmaids jewerly as a %26quot;thank you%26quot; gift.

Our guestbook attendant is a young lady of 12, and our flower girl is 3 years old. What are appropiate gifts for the guestbook attendant and flower girl?

Gifts for children in the bridal party?
gift cards. get them a gift card to a popular children%26#039;s.teenage shop. kids are hard to buy for at that age, let them pick it out for themselves.
Reply:Give them a little bouque of pretty fake flowers to remember the wedding, or a hair clip or something.
Reply:I think you could get the 12 yr old jewelery as well. Even a simple charm bracelet would be nice %26amp; make her feel special %26amp; a part of the bridal party.

The three year old- ask her parents what she likes. Maye a stuffed animal or tiara or even child appropriate jewelry.
Reply:I%26#039;d get the 3 year old a dress up %26quot;wedding dress%26quot;. You can find them in any toy department. My daughter was in a wedding and she became bride obsessed.
Reply:you could get them matching bracelets
Reply:The 12 year old is old enough to not only appreciate jewelry, but also to feel left out if the others got jewelry and she didn%26#039;t. Depending on the jewelry that the bridesmaids are getting, you can either get her the same thing or something less expensive, like a simple chain with her name on it.

The 3 year old will benefit most from a small toy or t-shirt. Ask her parents what they%26#039;d prefer (I think a wedding-themed baby doll would be nice, or a canvas tote bag with her name on it that says flowergirl).
Reply:Give your flower girl a tiara for her to wear during the wedding. Not only will it be usefull for her Mom to be able to figure out how to fix her hair, but she can always play dress-up with it after the wedding. If you%26#039;re not into the tiara thing during the wedding (like if you already have her wearing flowers or something like that) then get her some princess stuff. Find out what her favorite cartoon or show is and get her something from that. (ie. Dora the Explorer, Strawberry Short Cake, Cinderella, ect.)

The guestbook attendant, since she is 12, I%26#039;m sure would love to be pampered for a day. Get her a mani-pedi gift certificate. It%26#039;s fun and will make her feel not only great, but grown up and mature.
Reply:you can get the guest book attendant jewelry too! Then just get a cute bag with crayons coloring book and some fruit snacks or candy if the parents allow her to eat candy!
Reply:I think getting a necklace or bracelet would make most twelve-year-olds feel very grown up and happy. Otherwise, try to think of something she cares about and would enjoy, whether it%26#039;s a book or a picture frame or a poster of her favorite celebrity to hang up in her bedroom.

As for the three year old, perhaps a teddy bear in a wedding gown or a nice doll would be good. Or, if you%26#039;re giving everyone else jewelry, you could give her a pretty dress up set of %26#039;diamond%26#039; jewelry.
Reply:A bracelet or necklace for the 12 year old and a Barbie or some kind of toy the 3 year old can enjoy and open up and play with at the reception. Ask her mom for something she might be into.
Reply:I think a nice pair of earings, or a necklace (similar to the bridesmaids) would be best for the 12-year-old. That would make her feel included and %26quot;grown up%26quot;.

When my brother got married this spring, they got my son (ring bearer) and cousin (flower girl) character towels. It was kinda cute, because then both kids got virtually the same thing. However, usually any little toy or gift is ok for kids. Just remember, you usually give it to them at the rerhersal dinner, so you don%26#039;t want anything that will be too distracting, so stay away from noise makers.

Gifts for my boyfriend?

My boyfriend frequently surprises me with flowers and chocolate. I want to give him a surprise gift like he does for me, but I don%26#039;t really know what to get him. I%26#039;m not looking for one of those practical gifts either. I want to give him something fun because he is almost always serious (pre-med major). I%26#039;ve cooked him dinner, gave him practical needed items, and give him candies from time to time. We have a pretty good sex life so I don%26#039;t really need bedroom suggestions. What is something totally unexpected?

Gifts for my boyfriend?

You did some pretty good ideas. You can surprise him by writing him little notes around the house or in his books telling him you%26#039;re thinking of him and love him. Giving him a relaxing massage or drawing a relaxing bath. Or how bout taking him to dinner or baking him his favorite sweets, maybe like during finals week you can just cook dinner for him all week or something. Get creative.

I%26#039;m sure no matter what you do, it will be from the heart and he will appreciate it. He%26#039;s a lucky guy!

Help a Disabled Guy put his heart on the line -Buying Flowers ( Help)?

I am a tiny bit interested in a girl that cuts my hair. I am a disabled guy (cerebral palsy) that happens to be shy when it comes to the ladies. However, this girl has a very caliming personality and seems to have an open mind. If I was going to buy her flowers, a belated Valentine%26#039;s Day gift, what kind would you recommend? I do not want any red or pink roses in the bundle. Do you know of any good companies that are reasonable in price and deliver. I live in the great state Michigan.

Thanks,

How do I make my husband get me gifts? Like bday presents...?

He remembers my bdays but a nice pat on the back is all I get. I always make his day super special w/ gifts and romance but no matter how many hints I send him (love flowers, romantic dinner, not expensive stuff) he believes that gifts are a waste of money. He says his money is my money and just go buy something if I wanted .. but that is not what I want. I wish my husband would give me a surprise %26quot;anything%26quot; just once a year. Forget Christmas, Valentines, he just believes in NO celebration. (I am so complete opposite). It is so unromantic, so frustrating in those special days.

How do I make my husband get me gifts? Like bday presents...?
You can%26#039;t really make him buy you gifts, instead, you have to talk to him and let him know that every now and then, you would enjoy the element of surprise in your relationship. If he thinks it%26#039;s a waste of money, there are other ways to surprise you. My husband and I do believe that Valentine%26#039;s day, etc are all wasteful holidays that stores promote in order to make more money. If he wants it to be meaningful, he can do something as simple as cooking a nice meal for you or cleaning up the house. When I come home from work and I see that my fiance has gone through great lengths and effort to cook me supper, it makes my day.

If he still doesn%26#039;t clue in, you really have to spell it out for him. Men don%26#039;t get it, they are clueless when it comes to these things.
Reply:give and you should receive
Reply:I guilted mine into straightening up his act... I spent sooo many years without ever getting anything recognized...so one year, I think it was Mothers Day and it came and again it was nothing to him...I mean, I%26#039;d only given him 4 kids no big deal right? So, my oldest had made soemthing at school for me and when I opened it, it reminded me how unappreciated I was by my hub and I spent the whole day crying over it....everytime he asked what was wrong I told him over and over that i was obviously wasting my time as I was totally unappreciated..and unloved. Whe3n he argued he did love me, I kept telling him ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS BUDDY! Then I turned and made his Fathers Day awesome.....and then my kids on Fathers Day said to him..How come you don%26#039;t do this for Mommy on Mothers Day? I think thats what finally got him..... Now I get gifts for everything..
Reply:It%26#039;s one thing to be %26quot;unromantic%26quot; - but he sounds completely and utterly selfish to boot. Marriage isn%26#039;t all about how *you* feel, it%26#039;s a lot about how your partner feels. I don%26#039;t know how to %26quot;make%26quot; him do something he sees no value in doing - and I%26#039;m not talking about the %26quot;gifts%26quot; per say, but about making his partener happy. I suppose, one practical solution would be to do something special on these days *together* - like, plan a small get-away together, go to a nice dinner together, buy something that both of you have been wanting to buy, together. I%26#039;m afraid, tho, that he will never get it, you%26#039;ll always have to be the insigator.

Then again, if this is his only fault, you%26#039;re not doing so bad!
Reply:You cannot make him do anything. You should have recognized this about him when you were dating. Accept him for who is is. Pray that he will become more considerate to your needs. and take the money he offered and treat yourself to a relaxing day at the spa. or whatever is comfortable for you.
Reply:Mr. Chivalry says, %26quot;If a man can%26#039;t do the same for you, then he doesn%26#039;t deserve it. Wait, I shouldn%26#039;t say that. I%26#039;d say, slow down on getting him so much, but continue to be the bigger person. Ultimately he SHOULD see how special he is to you, and if he can%26#039;t or doesn%26#039;t, then use the money you spend on him, to treat yourself. He%26#039;ll realize what he%26#039;s missing.%26quot;
Reply:http://www.LadderGolfGame.com
Reply:Just go buy what you want and give him the receipt if you have separate bank account. If you share accounts then that%26#039;s easier just buy what you want and tell him thanks. You don%26#039;t need to make a big deal out of it. Plus you know most men suck at picking good gift. I have to bring a catalog home and make the pages or print off items I would like and leave them on his desk. But still I get either the wrong color or the wrong size. So I just do it my self and give him the receipt for reimbursement.
Reply:Stop buying him gifts. That should send him the message. You can%26#039;t make him buy gifts for you. What would be the fun in getting something you had to force him to buy?
Reply:Stop!!! Don%26#039;t get him anything, and stop celebrating his days!!!

I bet he will miss it.

Who in the wedding party are you buying gifts for?

i know the MOH, Bridesmaids, bestman, groomsmen, flower girl and ring bearer get gifts but where do you stand on the mothers of the bride and groom?

should i give them somthing?

my dad is doing the videoing of the wedding so i am giving him something.

anyone else i should be buying for?

Who in the wedding party are you buying gifts for?
You have to buy something special for the mother, I bought a jewlery box from things remembered and put a locket inside with a picture of my husband and I in it
Reply:I%26#039;m buying for the attendants only. We are not having flower girls or ringbearers.

We are ordering corsages for our Moms and boutenierres for the Dads, not giving them gifts. They will all get special photos (paid for by us) AFTER the wedding, but thats the extent of it. If they were contributing to or paying for the wedding, I think a Thank You gift might be in order - but they aren%26#039;t doing that in our case.
Reply:I will be getting something for my mum as she has helped me out heaps with the wedding. I think if they played a part in the wedding, whether it be planning, financial or just opinions when asked for them then get them a gift. If they did nothing then dont get them one.

It doesn%26#039;t have to be anything big...

I am only buying for wedding party and parents.
Reply:They usually get a bouquet of flowers at the speeches. All the best for your big dayXXX
Reply:we are getting gifts for all of the wedding party %26amp; both of our parents.

The guys are all getting mugs w/ their names on them. (the groomsmen and the dad%26#039;s) and my girls are going to get %26quot;goodie%26quot; bags with lotions and random other things in them. I have no idea what I am getting the mothers yet, but I do know we are getting them something.
Reply:we are buying both mothers a boquet of flowers and my mother i am buying a little extra as she made all the invatations and has done lots of work towards the wedding!!

both sets of mothers genreally get something

i also got my nan something as she paid for the flowers and also a friend who is settng the tables at the reception
Reply:we bought picture frames for our parents from www.jessicaswedding.com. they came with an engraved plate with our wedding date and names on them and where really pretty glass with mother of pearl flowers. the best part is they were cheap (only $25 each). You can%26#039;t go wrong with a picture present for your parents :D
Reply:I got gifts for my wedding party as you mentioned. I also got:

Our parents got BIG gifts, as they had all given SO much in order to make the wedding happen.

Our readers got little gifts, just a token of our appreciation.

My cousin played the organ as our wedding gift. I got him a small gift as well. (Chocolate, as a thank you)

My aunt was the %26quot;wedding planner%26quot; that the church required. This was a TOTALLY messed up situation, but anyway...we got her a box of chocolates as well.

We also got our grandparents a small frame and put a picture in it.

FYI: My %26quot;small gifts%26quot; were gourmet chocolate from Godiva. They were having a sale, and we got six boxes of chocolates and four %26quot;wedding cake%26quot; chocolates for $40 total. (Generally, the %26quot;cakes%26quot; alone are $20 for four!) I think we spent about $900 - $1000 for all the gifts combined, except the parents. (Ten attendants, two flower girls plus all the chocolates and frames)

We bought jewelry cases and necklace/earing sets for the girls. The boxes were all engraved with a %26quot;(Name)Thanks so much. Love, (Bride) and (Groom) (date)%26quot; For the guys we got them pocket watches, again engraved with %26quot;Thanks (Groom) and (Bride)%26quot; with their initials on the other side. For the flower girls we bought frames, engraved with their name and our names, a wedding picture to be added. We also bought them a bunch of fun kid stuff (what 2 or 5 year old wants a frame, really?).
Reply:your husband :P
Reply:I%26#039;m just getting something for my MOHs and my BMs. My fiance is worrying abotu what to get his bestmen and GMs.
Reply:I%26#039;m giving the reader in church a small gift as well.

Reply:I%26#039;m getting them for the parents (both sides), all the other ones you said, plus the ushers.
Reply:It is usual to give flowers to the mothers. You can give your dad something if you wan tbut it isn%26#039;t usual.
Reply:I would by them a personalised mug of the event think you can buy them on here http://www.must-haves.co.uk/gifts.htm on getting personal be like the queen for a laugh.

i am getting bouquets of flowers for our mums and grandmas.
Reply:For my pageboys I have bought cufflinks that say pageboy, ones that say groom for fiance, and ones that say best man for father of the groom (as he is best man) for the bridesmaids I got trinket boxes that say to a special bridesmaid, we have also bought presents for fiances grandad, his aunty, his mum and his dad (again) as they have all helped with the wedding. We got whiskey tumblers engraved with our names, a picture of wedding bells and the date of our wedding. We got 6, all in individual boxes, for £40 inc. postage. We will present these at the reception, and give a little speech to say thankyou.
Reply:We got gifts for all of the parents, the wedding party, ushers, and reader. Also gave a monetary gift to the soloist.
Reply:I%26#039;m getting married in august for the bridesmaids maid i bought them jewellery set that the can wear on the day and also the can use them after the wedding.

for the grooms party we bought them cuff-links so they can use them on the day and after the wedding

for the mother of the bride and groom i got them a gift voucher for a weekend at the spa at different times as they don%26#039;t get on LOL,

and for the father of the bride and groom i bought them scotch gift set as that%26#039;s what they like.

for the laddies favour%26#039;s i decided to put together a bag full of smellies like bubble bath, soap, candles, body wash and bath bombs. i hope this helps you and good luck with your wedding

Valentines day gift?...Chocolate or Diamond or Flowers, which should I?
does it matter.it will be thrown back at you at some stage
Reply:diamonds among flowers while having chocolates. hehehehehehe
Reply:Gosh, all three! Put some diamond earrings or a bracelet or anklet into the box of chocolates and wrap them using the flowers as a bow.
Reply:depends how long you have been together.
Reply:Chocolate. You can%26#039;t go wrong with candy...

Hope this helps!
Reply:welll it depends on how much u love her, so if u dont like her that much, flowers. u like her very much but not that much chocolate, and if u truly love her then diamonds, or if shes ur one and only, prize posetion, all of the above!
Reply:Most women love diamonds. I don%26#039;t. I prefer white roses, which is what my hubby always gets me. What you get your sweety should be based on what she likes - and what you can afford.
Reply:How about a dozen red roses and a box of chocolate.
Reply:I would prefer a lovely ruby over a diamond for Valentines. But, above all, I would love to be appreciated and have little things done for me.
Reply:If you are planning on proposing, then diamonds is the way to go. However, if you are not ready to take that step I would stick with the flowers and chocolates. Thank you.
Reply:Cover all bases here mate.

Get her flowers, obviously. Don%26#039;t and your a dead man. A nice box of chocolates, not the kind you get at the drug store, and hide inside a nice little diamond whatever. Necklace, bracelet, ring, you decide.
Reply:Diamonds .. and maybe flowers
Reply:Diamonds are forever, so diamonds would be my preferance.
Reply:I would LOVE to recieve flowers at work, but get her something else for later that night like a diamond. ;-)
Reply:At the Laura Secord shops, around Valentines day they sell Chocolate Roses. That way you can give her both chocolate and flowers, kill two birds with one stone. =) Unless you want to give her actual roses which she can dry up and keep forever. Keep in mind though, roses are generally more pricey around this time since they%26#039;re in demand. Good luck finding the right gift!
Reply:diamonds....pink diamonds.....
Reply:all of the above :o)
Reply:i love white tulips, daffodils and babys breath in a bouquet. my boyfriend always gets me that and an edible fruit bouquet with fruit dipped in chocolate. mmmm.
Reply:A right hand diamond ring.

They are supposed to represent a womans strength and power.

From personal experience, THEY ARE A GREAT GIFT.
Reply:Eeek, there is a large price difference between chocolate, flowers and diamonds! Get whatever you WANT to get her, or whatever you think/know she will like.

I will say - regarding chocolate, do something a step above Hershey%26#039;s and go for Godiva or something comparable. Flowers - my preference is to steer clear from the cliched red roses and do something original. Ask a florist for help (at a flower shop, not the grocery store). Jewelry - steer clear of Zale%26#039;s or other mall jewelry stores, they rip you off. Look in the phone book for a private jeweler and visit them. Good luck!
Reply:A little of all 3 please
Reply:A kiss+A hug+A flower+A ring+choclate....

Will just make her....................more sweety n lovely to u...

Best of luck!!!

Happpy valentines day!!!
Reply:All of the above delivered by a singing telegram person while I am at work so everyone else will be jealous.
Reply:That depends on how much of a sweetie she is. Are you commited forever?..diamonds are fine Do you just like her alot?....go for candy or flowers

Should I give my girlfriend flowers for her Sweet 16?

Her party is tonite, her birthday is Sunday. I want to get her some roses, but I%26#039;m not sure if thats the greatest idea, and to be honest, Im a little embarrassed about showing up to the party holding flowers. Im not gonna have her gift, because I%26#039;m giving it to her tomorrow when were alone (yes, she knows this). Do you think roses for this is such a good idea that I should just do it?

Should I give my girlfriend flowers for her Sweet 16?
Yes a good idea

girls love flowers and shell probably appreciate the fact that you looked like an idiot holding flowers for her

and btw dong be embarrassed by holding flowers dude

if someones bustin your balls about it just shrug it off i think your gf is worth it right?
Reply:I dont understand why you would ever doubt bringing her roses lol. They are such a sweet gesture. If not flowers a card with something very sweet but not too emotional written in like %26quot;i think the world of you%26quot; or %26quot;you are very special to me%26quot;

hope all goes well! :)
Reply:I think that would be very sweet!

Don%26#039;t get red roses, maybe pink! And don%26#039;t get them wrapped in cellophane. Get a vase or a cloth like material. The florist will know what i mean.

Good Luck and have fun tonight!
Reply:That would be a very thoughtful gift!
Reply:i would give her some thing else... but if you do make sure there her favorite

I sent my boyfriend's Mom some flowers & she didn't say Thank You ... Should I call her and ask her WHY??

I posted a question some time ago 4 advice where my boyfriend %26amp; I had a nasty argument %26amp; said things to hurt each other. I hit %26quot;below the belt%26quot; %26amp; made insulting comments about his mom %26amp; son. This was 3-4 weeks ago. Things have been tense with us since. He hasn%26#039;t been calling me but I sent xmas gifts to him anyway %26amp; I sent his Mom flowers. I requested %26quot;same day%26quot; delivery (which would be yesterday) but I didn%26#039;t get confirmation until TODAY that she got the flowers yesterday @ 4pm. Now I%26#039;m wondering why neither of them called to say Thank You? I%26#039;m also wondering if his Mom knows about the argument we had where I said bad things about her %26amp; maybe that%26#039;s why I didn%26#039;t get a THANK YOU for flowers I sent. I asked by boyfriend back then if he told his Mom about the argument, he told me %26quot;No%26quot;, that he doesn%26#039;t discuss his personal biz with his Mom. I%26#039;m wondering if he lied %26amp; told her what happened %26amp; that%26#039;s why I haven%26#039;t heard a Thank you. I want to CALL HER %26amp; ask but something%26#039;s telling me not to.

I sent my boyfriend%26#039;s Mom some flowers %26amp; she didn%26#039;t say Thank You ... Should I call her and ask her WHY??
Don%26#039;t call - pretty sure she knows about the remarks you made in the %26quot;heat of the moment%26quot;. Just let it be.
Reply:as much as you want to find out , do not call her, give her sometime.. if she calls, then you%26#039;ll feel a lot better. But if she doesn%26#039;t call, then you know how she feels toward you( might be forgetful too)
Reply:may take some time - - u can always call and ask %26quot;did u get the flowers?%26quot; but, don%26#039;t ask why there was no thank you.

unfortuately some people are just like that.

u made a nice effort.
Reply:Don%26#039;t call! This could make things worse if he did tell her. You know that you did the right thing. So don%26#039;t let it bother you if she doesn%26#039;t thank you.
Reply:it will be better for you to ask her for reasons than to keep it in you.
Reply:Don%26#039;t ask anything. To forgive is divine. Please, forgive her.
Reply:you can call her and ask how%26#039;s she but DON%26#039;T ASK WHY SHE HASN%26#039;T THANKED YOU
Reply:no, dont call. i would leave well enough alone.
Reply:Don%26#039;t call right away, your probably right that he did tell his mother when people are angry they say things that they shouldn%26#039;t and because you hit below the belt the chances are he would have said something to her. Wait a little bit longer and if you don%26#039;t get the thank you call from his mother then you know for sure he told her. Call her in a couple of days and ask her if she got her gifts. Then you%26#039;ll get your answers then. Good luck and next time think before you speak ok . Happy holidays
Reply:I would keep quiet, back away and stay out of thie situation. Let them make the next move towards thank you.

I nothing happens, then it is pretty clear how the other side feels here
Reply:Don%26#039;t call. If she wants to be a jerk, let her. But don%26#039;t make things worse.
Reply:Mabey he is lieing he might of told her!! Was u and her ok before the argument or did yall tlk it all depends.Call her and tlk to her but dont ask her why she didnt say thank you%26gt;Ask her if she liked the flowers then it might get on the subject just follow ur instinct i hope it works out!!!!%26gt;!%26gt;!%26gt;!%26gt;!

staceylu
Reply:don%26#039;t call. that would not be appropriate. Boy friend, every body has disagreements. Learn first to control the tongue when angry, then

at the right time, go for a soda and/or coffee the two of you and talk about it. Talk it out and apologoze if necessary and you were in the wrong. When some day you marry, you can%26#039;t just sling insults, talk about it civil.

What kind of gifts do you give to ring bearer & flower girl?

I dont know what kind of gifts I am supposed to give them. Like little toys or more grown up things? They are 5 and 7 years old.

What kind of gifts do you give to ring bearer %26amp; flower girl?
I did both. I gave them both small plaques with a poem about being the ringbearer/flower girl and our wedding date. (I found them on ebay for $5)

I also got them toys too. The flower girl is really into Barbies so I got her the wedding cake Barbie playset. The boy loves Spiderman so we got him some action figures.

They both have something to remember the day by but also something fun.

good luck!
Reply:For the kiddos in my upcoming wedding, we made them each a little canvas messenger bag and filled it with toys, games, activities, snacks, a new water bottle, fairy wands, stickers, and anything else we thought would help keep them entertained during the slow parts of our big day. We decorated the bags with their title and their name, and they turned out really cute!
Reply:I just got married and had a great time shopping for my flower girl and the ring bearer! He was 5 and she was 6. She is a really really girly girl and loves to dress up and wear makeup. I got her a makeup bag like I got the older girls and filled it with cheap makeup. Lipstick, nail polish, eye shadow...all kinds of stuff....she LOVED it. For the ring bearer, a total boy, I got him a remote control Hummer. He drove it around the rehearsal and still drives it around almost a year later. They are kids let them have something fun!
Reply:Yikes - what does a 5 or 7-year-old boy want with a grown up keepsake (a monogrammed money clip?) Give something fun to occupy them at the reception -- hand-held electronic games (Target has a bunch), the %26quot;Apples to Apples%26quot; game, a Leapfrog Turbo Twist spelling game (http://www.amazon.com/Leap-Frog-LeapFrog... coloring books and crayons. Does the older child have a Gameboy or PSP? Get him/her a new game and tell the parents to make sure they bring the unit on the wedding day. They will be happy and occupied and not bored and chasing each other around and sticking their fingers in the cake.
Reply:Anything goes with kids. You could give a necklace, bracelet or watch or a toy if you choose.
Reply:i got the ring bearers a t-shirt that said %26quot;ring security%26quot; on the back and also a small duffel bag with his name stitched in it (i had a 2yr old and a 7yr old). i got my flower girl a t%26#039;shirt too but then I got her a cute (age appropriate) bracelet and necklace set for her to wear at the wedding (she was 6)

Build-a-Bear also has FG and RB costumes for their animals.. thats a cute gift they can remember your wedding by (my 2yr old ring bearer and flower girl were really into my wedding and i got them those for christmas (wedding was February).
Reply:My son was a ring bearer twice and both times he got books and small toys.
Reply:A FLOWER BOKEY.
Reply:Check your local mall, to see if there is a company called Build A Bear. You can take the children there and let them build their own Stuffed bear, its alot of fun, the kids will have a blast!
Reply:for the girl a cute teddy bear

for the guy a vest?
Reply:i was a flower girl in my aunt%26#039;s wedding when i was 7 and she gave me a book called %26quot;The Giving Tree%26quot; by Shel Silverstein. Now everytime I see that book I think about my aunt%26#039;s wedding. For a little boy, you could get him his first wallet. That is about the time that they start doing chores for dollars. Just be creative. They will love anything you give them.
Reply:well i gave my flower girl a pair of pearl earings

and i gave my ring bearer a silver foot ball bank

im sure something along thoes lines would work
Reply:Something for a little kid. THey don%26#039;t understand grown-up traditions.

I was a flower girl when I was nine and got a toy/game that I loved and had fun with.

Our flower girl was 9 and we gave her a jewelry box and jewelry that matched the bridesmaids. As far as I know, liked it!
Reply:I think something that is a keep sake would be best, so they can remember the day. A toy they can get anytime.

Some ideas for the girl....bride and groom beanie babies, a little silver locket with a photo of her on the day, a charm bracelet with wedding motifs(eg horseshoe, flower, etc) maybe add a toy of some description to keep them from being bored at the wedding...wedding colouring pages or a activity set, books, crayons etc

For the boy.......much harder! I would go with some kind of activity set, and maybe something that he would have to look after like a game boy and have the back of it engraved. Or even his very first watch! He would feel important and grown up then!
Reply:you can get them some little toys or something. maybe a little necklace for the flowergirl or a watch for the ring bearer. thats what my cousin did for hers. maybe a coloring book for the reception for they want be bored.

How do guys respond to recieving flowers?

I%26#039;d like to know what some men, (various different types of guys) would think about recieving flowers from their girlfriend?

I think flowers aren%26#039;t a one way gift and are a great way to show that you care about him!

I bought my boyfriend flowers lastnight.... he left his house keys at my place when he left for work... So I bought him a bouquet of flowers, (funky looking flowers- not girly ones) and took them to his place, tidied up his house for him before taking his keys in to work.

I%26#039;m nice, I know. Teehee.

How do guys respond to recieving flowers?
LOL I love doing things like that for my man!.. First time I did something like that.. I just wanted to make him feel a little better I knew he would be all bummed out he was taking his kids back to their mothers and knew it would be a few more months before he seen them again... when he got home at like 6 in the morning after making a 20 hour trip... he had a card a teddy bear and a rose sitting on his steps.... or letting him find a rose with a i love you note on his car. I would rather do something like that then be the one receiving
Reply:I think its cute... if my gf gave me flowers i would just give her a kiss cos its thoughtful and so cute..
Reply:I like it, I get them

I enjoy getting them!
Reply:My girlfriend brought me flowers last week and I thought she was the best. I have never been given flowers before and I think its great. She gave them to me in front of my kids and the did not know how to react either. It is shocking.

Is there any shop which can deliver gifts locally in chennai?but i hve no credit card.hw can i pay from abroad
You didn%26#039;t mention what gift you want to be delivered and I don%26#039;t think think there is any shop which can deliver everything. So first of all you decide what gift you want to be delivered and tell your location, means in which city and country you are?
Reply:not really if u dont have a credit card. Please let me know where are u from? Maybe i can help u once i know it
Reply:I am from Delhi.

If; while being abroad you can advertise, build, and promote a business on same lines; i.e to collect orders from Indians in your area for delivering goods in India after purchasing them from here it self; like you want to do; then I think we can join and work together for establishing and developing a combined business set up of our own; ensuring that the payment problem as you are facing; is solved.

Think over it ; and reply; for I see business potential and opportunity for making money in this venture.

Can anyone suggest a good home recipe for adding to water to keep cut flowers fresh? ?

When you are gifted with, or buy, fresh flowers you get a little packet of powder to add to the water to feed the flowers and keep them fresh. That is supposed to be done every 3 or 4 days so the flowers outlast the flower food. Anyone have a good home recipe?

Can anyone suggest a good home recipe for adding to water to keep cut flowers fresh? ?
Sunset Magazine did some experimentation on this subject. The best they found was using lemon flavored soda in the water. I think it was 2/3 water to 1/3 soda.

Some flowers (stocks) last longer if the stems are pounded. Poppies last if you sear the stems with a flame. Roses need to be re-cut under water. Suspect you could do a Yahoo search and get more specifics.
Reply:Aspirn for sure but you need to cut an inch maybe less off the stems of the flowers as well to keep them looking good and last longer.
Reply:Instead of adding anything to the water, cut off the end of the stems each day so that the tissue can continue to take up water freely. Use room temperature water, so that you don%26#039;t %26quot;shock%26quot; the plant tissue, and enjoy!
Reply:Aspirin is good, but when I lived in Germany I was taught by a little German woman to add two or three copper pennies to the water.

It seemed to work and the flowers lasted a long time!
Reply:I heard a few drops of bleach works best.
Reply:Use aspirin in the water. Works like a charm.
Reply:I absolutely agree with %26quot;dances with unicorns%26quot;. It%26#039;s not what you put in the water, it%26#039;s trimming them everyday and changing the water.
Reply:the floer food packets mainly contain an acidic to maintain flow of water up the stem, a sugar as food, and something that kills the bacteria and fungi.

acids include lemon juice or viniger

bleach, copper (a penny), and asprin all kill fungi and bacteria.

lemon-lime sodas contain both acids and ALOT of sugar that feeds the flower.

also cut it under water so air does not go up the stem and suffocate it. recut them a little bit every few days, they tend to clot.

dont remove thorns it shortens its life, but remove leaves that will be submerged under the water.

keep them in cold water.

pppl even advise to refrigerate them for a few hours before arranging.

i prefer the first source i listed. it also includes how to make this glycerin solution that preserves the flowers for years, and how to properly dry ur flowers.
Reply:Generic grocery store brand Lemon Lime soda pop!

About 1/2 can to the vase-ful!
Reply:I saw a TV show segment once where they tested different %26quot;tricks%26quot; like aspirin, sugar, the little packet, etc. and the thing that kept the flowers looking their best the longest was to completely change the water daily. Use warm water, so as to not shock the flowers. If I buy flowers and bring home to arrange, I put them in warm water in the sink and cut their stems underwater, at an angle so they cannot sit against the bottom of the vase and not draw water. Some flowers have stems that weep, and those end cuts are supposed to be sealed to as to not contaminate the water in which they%26#039;re placed.
Reply:aspirin, not tylenol or advil...plain old aspirin
Reply:1 tablespoon sugar to 1/2 gallon water??? Grandma swore by it.
Reply:Not exactly what you are looking for, but here are a couple of my tricks.

Drooping flowers can be revitalized by placing them in a vase of hot water, directly (2-3 seconds), after cutting off the bottom two inches of the stems. Most flowers will perk up before your eyes.

A drop or two of bleach can be added to the water before you place the flowers in, this will help to sanitize the water from any bacteria that could hurt the flowers. The bleach will NOT hurt the flowers in this concentration.
Reply:1 bayers aspirin has always kept flowers fresh. My mom has used this for years with no problem especially on roses. Sounds corney but works.

Gifts for friend whos mom has died?

ok so one of my friends at school...her mom just died of cancer 2 nights ago. all of our friends would like to pitch in and buy her a gift. we were thinking about flowers but we kind of want something that will last.....so any suggestion?

Gifts for friend whos mom has died?
Aww, firstly I am very sorry for your friend, thats so upsetting.

I don%26#039;t think buying her material stuff is a good idea. Chocolates and flowers will not make her feel better.

Instead, invite her to talk to you and remind her that you are always there for her no matter what but appreciate if she needs space and time before talking about it.

Also, make her a card, something handmade, to make her feel good.

Just don%26#039;t buy her things, it will not make her better. Handmade things and things that money can%26#039;t buy are 1000x better in this situation.

Trust me, I%26#039;m sorry this a terrible way to start off 2008 for your friend.

All my love,

x
Reply:well at a moment like that material objects wouldnt really matter to her, mbe you and your friends could hang out with her one day, with her mom gone shes probably gonna feel alone
Reply:One idea is to donate money to some cause in your friend%26#039;s mother%26#039;s name, or have her name put on a memorial brick or park bench. In some cities (don%26#039;t know where you%26#039;re from) you can purchase bricks, like at the zoo or other places, which have the name of the person. They are either used in the walkway, or on the wall. Same with benches. Some cities will have park benches and you can have a plaque with the name of the person.

There%26#039;s also the naming of a star after someone.

This way you are honoring your friend%26#039;s mother, which is probably something she would want.

Well, flowers in her mother%26#039;s favorite colors are a nice idea. As for the photo of her and her friends and a statue... I really think something which honors her mother or her feelings about her mother is the best. Even if it%26#039;s a simple book of poems. Are you all going to the funeral? She would probably like that as well. You might also volunteer to help out at her house if there is a gathering after the funeral. These type of things might mean more to her than a gift of a photo of friends or a statue. Although a sweet idea, a gift isn%26#039;t really necessary, but acknowledging the passing of her mother and being there for her will really mean a lot.
Reply:idk maybe a cool crafty thing 2 take his/her mind off of it or sumthing else idk oooo a fun game like volley ball soccer idk kk

Who got flowers for mothers day????today?

i have been working in a florist this week and it feels like the whole world has been given flowers.... thank god i have finnished.. what other gifts did people get for morthers day??

Who got flowers for mothers day????today?
I thought mother%26#039;s day was in MAY
Reply:Not me because I warned my kids and husband not to buy me any because of the cost, all the florists and market stalls by me, have nearly doubled there prices, so I would rather not have them.

But my eldest son took me out for a mexican meal last night with his girlfriend and her mom, it was a really nice night, it was his first mothers day where he has been working, and he made me so proud.
Reply:my hubby let me loose in the shopping centre with his wallet - brave man. so i got new clothes, jewelery and boots. yeha
Reply:i had flowers but they were roses made of wood very nice too .i also had a photo of my granddaughter and some smellies .how about you ?
Reply:to everyone out with the UK it is mothers day in the UK, yes i got flowers and chocolates but the best pressie of all was my kids visiting with my 9 grand kids, it is pretty hectic but then when they all go home the silence is wonderfull, would not change it for anything xx
Reply:my mum doesnt like flowers so i got her vouchers for a hairdressers
Reply:I got a lovely bunch of flowers with a teddy stuck in them. But the thing I loved most was the card my 4 year old made at play group and went to pain staking lengths to hide from me.
Reply:I got a lovely fluffy dressing gown and 1 card. I have 3 kids all grown [6 g,kids] Wonder if the 2 lads thought mothers day was May like a few on here did I don%26#039;t mind any-way and have always told my family not to get me flowers for such occasions they are too over=priced I pick my own from my garden all through spring and summer they smell loads better than shop bought and I am actually proud of them.

What's the best way to dry flowers that were received as gift?

I%26#039;ve tried all sorts of things, and just can%26#039;t seem to make it work. Please help me preserve my anniversary bouquet. Thanks!

What%26#039;s the best way to dry flowers that were received as gift?
best is to just hand upside down in a dry area; all those drying agents don%26#039;t work any better and are a waste of money; I went to a place and she had all these bouquets hanging upside down in the back room ; people had paid her to dry out their bouquets and all she did was hang them up ; nice business; more ceiling room please
Reply:While there are many commercial products to dry flowers, I just hang them upside down until dry. This keeps the petals in place.

Some also use a dark closet to keep colors vibrant.
Reply:place the flowers between the pages of a heavy book about half way in and close book on them for several weeks , hope this helps ,
Reply:This works for roses for sure. I hang the boquet upside down. That way they driy in the position they are in. Do it before they are dead though. Once they are dry you can actually put the dried boquet in a vase and they will be perfectly preserved but very delicate. I dont know if this would work for more delicate flowers but for roses and flowers similar it works wonders.
Reply:hang them upside down before any wilting starts, I usually use floss or fishing line, tie em in a bundle and hang...
Reply:the expensive way is put them in a box of silica (it%26#039;s the stuff that comes in a little package in your shoes says do not eat) you can buy it, not that I know where, but I have seen it on crafting shows...it sucks moisture out of things..but personally i have done the hang it upside down thing as well, works for most flowers but you do have to do it while they are still strong and not wilted, so you really don%26#039;t get to enjoy them alive

R there any othr women out there who would rathr get almost ANY othr inexpensive gift INSTEAD OF cut flowers?

Cut flowers are pretty, but they only last so long.

If a gentleman wants to get me flowers, I prefer a potted plant, such as an orchid. Every time they bloom, you can think fondly of the person who gave it to you.

R there any othr women out there who would rathr get almost ANY othr inexpensive gift INSTEAD OF cut flowers?
As a guy I just have to say what Ablex wrote made me think – “Ouch.”

However, I do totally agree. They are all well worth a “Thumbs Up”.

Inexpensive cut flowers should be relegated to the role of a table decoration for dinner.

They are ornamental. As with the food and candles, once the evening is over they are meant to soon be discarded.

My preference is to give live plants. I especially like to give orchids. They come in such a variety of shapes, sizes and colors, just like people and my feelings for them. The message they have for me in a relation ship is that you are special and unique. The orchid doesn’t need a lot of attention, just a little care. Mainly water and food once in a while, and they will continue to bring joy in your life for quite a while to come. That would be the message I try to express.

(Yeah, I know you asked for women. But I felt like I should answer to let you all know that there are guys out there that also agree)
Reply:I heard this guy gave his GF some fresh flowers and a note that said %26quot;I will love you until each petal falls off.%26quot;

She found out that the last flower was fake.

I would love to have creative stuff like that instead of an expensive thing.
Reply:Absolutely.

I%26#039;d actually prefer a living plant (houseplant or outdoor) over cut flowers.

Who ever decided that the amputated reproductive organs of plants are the perfect expression of affection?

He doesn't buy me gifts! WHY?

We%26#039;ve been together a while now. He has money, always pays for everything and takes me places, but never buys gifts for no occasion, like jewelry or flowers or parfume... I don%26#039;t understand why. I know he really loves me. Is it ok? I buy him stuff sometimes for no reason. This makes me feel he doesn%26#039;t care much. I want flowers, god damn it.

He doesn%26#039;t buy me gifts! WHY?
I know how you feel. It%26#039;s just nice to sometimes feel appreicated or special without it having to be a speical occasion.

My husband will buy me flowers if I mention it to him that it%26#039;d be nice, but the suprise would be better...for him to do it without mentioning a thing.
Reply:Tell him....HOW MUCH YOU LIKE FLOWERS %26amp; HOW HE SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WANT SOME

NOW!!!!
Reply:have you told him how it makes you wanna smack him?
Reply:Men are obtuse. He probably thinks your gifts are making up for him paying for you guys to go out. That, and sex. Some men do not buy gifts at all. Some men only buy gifts for women they really love. I don%26#039;t know, as a fellow woman, if it is too much to say- hey this is what I want... Or, perhaps if you say what you want, then they know? Men: women like flowers and little presents to know you are thinking of them and care. And not just when you cheat on them! Jeez. Sometimes I wish I were gay, women understand women and men understand men. Why we need to deal with the other, I have no idea.
Reply:Wow if i currently had a gf i would spoil her senseless... i dunno what his problem is.
Reply:I know the feeling...And NO it is not okay!
Reply:Clearly he%26#039;s not inconsiderate, since he takes you out and pays for everything. That means a lot right there. And flowers are expensive, so if he buys you flowers, you might be going out less often... ;-)
Reply:The problem is with you not him....maybe he does love you and doesn%26#039;t feel the need to shower you with gifts. If he pays for everything and takes you places ,take it wasy on his wallet. As long as he is good to you who cares.
Reply:Because he doesn%26#039;t understand how much it means to you. Heck I wouldn%26#039;t by gifts either unless I knew my GF wanted them.

What Gifts to women like on first dates...?

What Gifts to women like on first dates... Flowers, Chocalate, Perfume, or jewellery

What Gifts to women like on first dates...?
Too much already! On a first date you will be buying the tickets and/or paying for the meal. A woman likes to be treated well but not feel obligated. If you are going to the theatre or somewhere fancy you might impress her with a corsage (small flower eg orchid to pin to dress) but I would play the first date low key and maybe send her flowers afterwards say the next day, or for me an orchid in a pot -exotic plant for rare and beautiful lady.

The trick for the first date is to find something she would do ANYWAY - like for a boy you would take him to a football match. So do your homework on the girl before you go splashing out again!
Reply:Id say the best gift would be for you just to turn up
Reply:Try something different. Check out www.breezybeachwear.com for some great gifts that would be appropriate for the 1st date. :)
Reply:Honesty is the number one gift any man can give a woman

that and a fish and chip supper what more does a girl need
Reply:flowers
Reply:well id like a black rose but normal women probably 1 pink rose
Reply:personally i wouldnt expect any gifts on the first date.

if you really want to take something then i would probably say a single flower, nothing cheap tho!! xx
Reply:You don%26#039;t want to give too much too soon otherwise most women will think that they can walk all over you. I think that the idea of bring something for a woman on a first date is lovely and that simple flowers or roses, depending on how well you know her, is perfect.

Good luck!
Reply:A single red rose would be very romantic!

and it%26#039;s not over doing it
Reply:A pile of dirty washing or ironing doesn%26#039;t go down too well, best leave that kind of thing till at least the second date - try buying a packet of fruit flavoured condoms and letting her choose her favourite.. it shows you care and have been thinking about her
Reply:Keep it simple, flowers or chocolates I would say.
Reply:On a first date go for a single rose or simple bouquet. Maybe even something you have growing in your yard?? if available. DON%26quot;T go overboard. Keep it simple for the first few dates. Perfume and Jewelry should be saved for dates WAY down the road.---like an anniversary date i.e. 3 month or 6 month, etc. (personally I don%26#039;t like perfume from a guy---I like to pick my own scent.)
Reply:go easy on the first date.

A small bunch of flowers will be more than enough.
Reply:i%26#039;ll say flowers and chocolate...
Reply:flowers and chocolates.not cheap flowers tho or they will think you don%26#039;t think that you like them that much if you go cheap.but you don%26#039;t have to go to dear just in between. good luck on your date.
Reply:Flowers always go down well. Jewellery is too personal for a first date and might be over the top for a lot of women.
Reply:I would suggest flowers is the safest bet.

Chocolates she may be on a diet.

Perfume - is a personal choice and would come when you know her better.

Jewellery - way down the line.

Give to much too soon she may think she is on to a good thing and keep with you for personal gain. Be careful with your generosity. Good Luck.
Reply:Flowers
Reply:i say jewlery
Reply:FLOWERS ARE A GREAT WAY TO START A FIRST DATE, ALSO MAKE SURE YOU OPEN ALL DOORS FOR HER, PULL OUT HER CHAIR IF YOU GO OUT TO DINNER, LET HER TALLK ABOUT HERSELF FIRST,ACT INTERESTED IN EVERYTHING SHE SAYS, THAT SHPULD GET YOU A SECOND DATE IF ALL GOES WELL, GOOD LUCK
Reply:Be careful dont go too up market ona first date, just flower or chocs on the first date, save the jewellery and perfume for in the future when you know her better, it is very difficult to choose jewellery and perfume she will like without knowing her very well. Its very personal type of gifts. Good luck.
Reply:DO NOT present a gift on the first date, it might be seen as creepy or controlling.
Reply:just 1 rich,red ROZE!
Reply:i think in my experience a woman like something frozen like a sara lee choc cake try it

Search in a search engine to see if any of your local flower shops have online sites. If so, they may be cheaper than the big name flower shops.
Reply:www.proflowers.com is a lot cheaper than most of the florist sites (like FTD) and the flowers are very pretty

Flowers for a guy??

hi!

one of my guy friends is gonna perform in a concert soon.. and i%26#039;ll be attending it with some good friends plus my boyfriend~

would it be weird for us to give him a bouquet of flowers??

if no.. what kinda flowers should we give?

if yes.. what other gifts do you recommend??

thanks a billion for the help!!!! =)

Flowers for a guy??
Its absolutely not weird. I%26#039;m an actor and musician and have gotten flowers on an opening night many times. You usually give them once the performance is over. Its an old tradition and has not an iota to do with %26quot;gay%26quot; or %26quot;straight.%26quot; Nonsense.

They%26#039;re usually roses but I don%26#039;t know of any hard and fast rule. I%26#039;ve usually gotten a single flower as opposed to a boquet. I ALWAYS appreciated it greatly. I%26#039;m not much of a flower guy so usually Mom or Grandma would get them next; this is also because plants seem to die when I try to take care of them!

Good for you. You%26#039;re doing the right thing.
Reply:There you go! Good deal. Thanks for picking my answer. Report It

Reply:Depends from person to person,

I personally don%26#039;t like flowers but I%26#039;m not kinda concert guy, I%26#039;m a geek.

So if you%26#039;re to give me something I%26#039;d like iphone or a Raptor 13K RPM hard drive (oh would love to have that).

I wouldn%26#039;t mind 1 year free subscription for WoW either :D

What person likes differs.
Reply:Its not weird :)

Just not common , you can gift a lot of things to guys :D

I personally like anything, literally anything what is from my friends :D

Good gift is a surprise party ( i had only 1 in my life and i will remember it forever) And the best gift ever is the gift what comes from your heart no matter if its flowers or shirt or anything else :D

Good Luck!!
Reply:its not weird to give flowers to a guy after his performance. unless you give him flowers on valentine%26#039;s, that will be totally weird!

you can choose a bouquet of flowers, or a bouquet of cookies, or a bouquet of candies.
Reply:Gonna be unique but still weird?

probably he%26#039; s going to laugh or will appreciate it?

can you just simply write him a letter??

if i were him and i received a letter from a friend,,im going to keep and appreciate it........

tell all the appreciation you can say about him that you can%26#039;t tell infront of him......

Say that you idolized him a lot and his special bla bla...

thank you for being a friend and i love you so much....(you can%26#039;t say that infront of him)
Reply:if your looking for a laugh then ya give him some really girlly flowers but if you dont want to make him embaresed dont like dinner after is cool or a giftcard to a place he likes or an itunes gift card or somthing and just to let you no a card full of money is a great gift!
Reply:Flowers are a nice gift buy why not a lovely orchid instead. You can buy beautiful orchid plants at big box stores for about 12.00. Or get him a nice bottle of wine that he can open when he wants . What a wonderful thought.
Reply:Ah what a kind and loving heart you have. Flowers with a smile - what a present. Do give flowers bouquet. Please also add a small item of need. Say a small pack of shaving kit.
Reply:sometimes guys like flowers....my fella says its unfair that women expect them and guys never get them, so i bought him some once and he loved them! lol. i say go for it. and just choose a bouquet that has a colour that he likes :)
Reply:It just depends. Attend the concert and after the concert get him to sign the program and take his picture with you. Make sure he gets a good 5X7 copy. Costs much less and means much more.
Reply:Some guys do not like flowers at all, I would just cheer and applaud very loudly after his performance and let him know he was fantastic - offer to treat him to dinner or a drink after the concert.
Reply:Yeah thats a bit ******* weird. And a bit homo-erotic.

Not that guys don%26#039;t like flowers but....

Just congratulate him and give him a hug or something.
Reply:no absolutely no i think he%26#039;ll be happy if you give him a bouquet of flowers in different color do not put in the bouquet lot of red flowers,

good luck

Tipping question...........Is it proper to tip delivery people that deliver gift baskets and or flowers to you

when you are on vacation , or otherwise ?

Tipping question...........Is it proper to tip delivery people that deliver gift baskets and or flowers to you
I would say yes, if you have a few dollars on you. Since most gift baskets and flowers are usually a surprise, I%26#039;ve been caught several times without cash, when the flowers were delivered. It%26#039;s a little embarrassing, but I%26#039;m pretty sure I%26#039;m not the only person this has happened to, so I%26#039;m also pretty sure the delivery person doesn%26#039;t expect a tip from every basket or bouquet they deliver.
Reply:most definitely. anyone in hospitality or delivery should be compensated for their work in a tip!
Reply:Yes! Give them a couple dollars! Poor things!
Reply:Absolutely.!!

The delivery folks are not well paid. A bit of extra would be welcome, I am sure!
Reply:At least offer it. Some are not allowed to accept it, and others have the tip taken care of in the purchase price. (It%26#039;ll be up to the delivery person whether or not to accept it.)
Reply:Yes I think that it is expected to tip them. Their salaries are small taking into consideration that they would be tipped.

Do you think flowers are an acceptable Christmas gift?

This is what my mum has asked for, but I feel like she should have something to keep.

Do you think flowers are an acceptable Christmas gift?
yes, a big bouquet (Xmas style) and a vase to go with it. (You can never have enough vases).Just an idea. I am sure she will love any present, just spoil her a bit I am sure she%26#039;s worth it.
Reply:You could always get her some good silk flowers so they last.
Reply:Yes, but what about a beautiful flower brooch as well or some velvety artificial ones in their own pot, or perhaps a growing basket of some sort?

what about a lovely bunch of roses and a book of flowers complete with verse or descriptions of the plants and their habitats etc?
Reply:I%26#039;m godmother to my niece (she%26#039;s 3 years old) and every Christmas her mom sends me a huge flower arrangement as a present along with buying me other gifts, but I%26#039;d be satisfied with the flower arrangement alone. I think it%26#039;s a great gift.
Reply:If that%26#039;s what she asked for, then get her flowers. Maybe she doesn%26#039;t want anymore %26quot;stuff%26quot; but wants to appreciate the beauty of flowers in the middle of winter. I like the idea.
Reply:Like, packets of seeds so she can garden? That sounds nices then some ready to die, fresh cut flowers.

A flowering plant would be nice.
Reply:I think you should get your mum a lovely bunch of flowers for Christmas and she will really appreciate it! It sounds like a lovely idea. Also maybe a little something else? Oh and a card, even though it is just a card, she will keep it, and when she is thinking of you she will get the card out and read it, words are powerful! It is also something she can keep.
Reply:I think fllowers are a really nice idea. Some flowers come with vases, so you can keep. This is one of the sets i saw recently at interflora... its good priced comes with the traditional christmas flower, chocolates and a vase to keep.

http://www.interflora.co.uk/catalog/prod...
Reply:I%26#039;d love flowers for Christmas. As people get older, they don%26#039;t want so many possessions. You could get her a little something else as well, perhaps something to eat.
Reply:Its about the thought and getting something someone actually wants..so if thats what she would really like I dont see a problem. Why not get a flowering plant that she can keep in the house and get a really nice pot to keep it in ..then you are both happy!
Reply:if they are what she wants then get her them you can get lovely arrangements made up in a vase so she will still have that when the flowers die........
Reply:yes, it%26#039;s lovely! shows your love and is beautiful :D
Reply:Well how about a plant that will grow year after year. You get some lovely potted plants also.
Reply:You could get her a Bonsai Tree, then she could keep it as they last for years. And they are lovely.
Reply:Flowers are a lovely gift, especially if your Mum has specifically asked for them. What you could do is actually go to the florist, instead of ordering online or by phone, and pick out a nice vase, and when the flowers are gone, she will still have the vase, she can put other flowers in it, and think of you.
Reply:what about a flowering plant?

Women are like wolves. If you want a wolf, you have to trap it. You have to snare it and then you have to tame it. Keep it happy, care for it, feed it. Lovingly. The way that an animal deserves to be loved. And my animal deserves a lot of loving.

Or, if you want something longer lasting, coupons you make up yourself, for date nights once a week, or twice a month-where it%26#039;s just the two of you spending time together doing fun things, like bowling, out to dinner or lunch, or even breakfast. A walk on the beach or in a local park. A picnic (when the weather is better-spring/summer).

Reply:Ohh I know try www.prettypinktoes.co.uk they have some gorgeous girly things, like %26#039;After Party Shoes - the fold up ones!, jewellery for your shoes and boots, ankle, jewellery, toe jewellery, feet jewellery, handbag hangers - that%26#039;s a good one! Lots of different things,

I bought myself some barefoot jewellery there last summers, it%26#039;s stunning, everyone commented on the beach. In fact I I would love to get something from there for valentines day ! Infact I%26#039;ll hint to my husband now!!
Reply:london eye, hot air balloon ride sky diving....
Reply:thank goodness for that. Those tacky things aren%26#039;t good, they show no imagination. why not get her something to do, a voucher for both of you for an activity or something? Don%26#039;t waste lots of money feeling obliged to buy something double the price it normally is for something she probably doesn%26#039;t want! Try lastminute.com maybe?
Reply:an entire day or week depends on your budjet in a resort where she will enjoy massage, nourishing facials, stream room treatments and all other kinds of things that are relaxing and soothing.
Reply:A photo portrait of you .....
Reply:you know what would be nice, if you took all the pictures of you two and make a big colage and frame it..its something for the house and you can pay someone to do it for you, and its something diffrent..and you can also have a nice day off at the beach or something and have a picnic and watch the sunset..and just spend the day together..that%26#039;s the best!

good luck!
Reply:Just get her a nice card and tell her that you love her and appreciate her and remind her the reasons that you fell for her in the first place and that you still feel the same. Take her to dinner and if you can afford jerwlery is always nice,
Reply:A spa day / weekend
Reply:find something you are both virgins at, %26amp; do it together, for the 1st time. keep it light, so that there is not too much pressure in case it isnt something you/her enjoy. Some examples: sample some new exotic fruits/food(s), go bowling, try salsa dancing...

good luck
Reply:Helicopter Ride and dinner
Reply:How about an ironing board and a screwdriver set? Those are real presents
Reply:get her something from the heart. something shes always wanted. or take her away to a bed and breakfast a few towns away. sometimes a woman doesnt need gifts sometimes she just needs the man she loves
Reply:You can get your partner a couple ring with both your names engraved on it. Or something like a keychain that you both can have which can let your partner been constantly reminded of you.

the weather is right, have a picnic under the stars and tell her cute stuff all night and be really romantic.

well, get him/her lol a box of chocolate, classic. u could take them to a dinner, maybe a movie,or u could cook at home and snuggle up on the coach wit a good movie. (DON%26#039;T FORGET TO SAY,%26quot;I ♥U!%26quot;)

Fill his/ her whole bedroom closet, garage, coat closet, car, drawer, bathroom cabinet, linen closet, etc. with balloons.

Candle light dinner in a nice posh restaurant, dress elegant. Roses, chocolates as a gift too.

dont wanna be rude but how about you cover your bed with rose petals, and wear something smashing. and rent a movie perhaps. And do what pleases your partner.

you could pretend that valentines isnt big deal and you are not going to do anything. And voila surprise

Well, you can give your partner a nice notebook that has pictures of you two and the places that you have been. Put comments next to it like %26quot;I was havin the time of my life laughing with you%26quot; %26quot;I love the way your eyes twinkle when you smile%26quot;

how about you write a letter? Write all about how much you love. Or how about give it to him in a bottle, wine bottle will do!, to keep the tradition alive

Or or or

You could go to a church!!!
Reply:Find a local spa, example Aveda, and book her a massage/facial. Then after that take her to lunch somewhere classy but informal (remember she doesn%26#039;t have all her makeup etc). And then take her to her favourite shop and give her a budget :)
Reply:Bake her cookies.

Write a poem for her.

Write a song about her %26amp; record it.

Massage her feet and paint her toenails.

Wash her car, and leave airline tickets to her favorite American city on the seat. (make sure both your names are on the tickets)

Draw her a bath, and feed her fresh strawberries dipped in the simmering chocolate you have set up in the fondue pot set upon the rose petals you%26#039;ve sprinkled all over the floor.

Tell her she%26#039;s the only one for you, and do your best to sing her a love song not recorded by Michael Bolton - then do the bath thing.

Buy her a gift card for a year%26#039;s worth of free oil changes, give it to her, then tell her it was a joke. Then give her jewelry - any jewelry as long it isn%26#039;t electroplated. (have it engraved with something sweet)
Reply:ya invites her close frds without informing her manage a party in hotel which u efford.don%26#039;t tell her and take her with u in hotel n thn surprised her by a romantic music inside hotel .and make sure her tht she is most important person in ur life in front of her frd ok
Reply:Women like seeing that you put effort into things. I know this sounds like a girly idea, but perhaps you could get a lot of pictures of you two together and make a scrapbook-- it doesn%26#039;t have to be very fancy, especially if you%26#039;re not artistically inclined, but maybe underneath each picture or in the margins you could write about your memories about what was happening when the picture was taken, or just write things you love about your wife. I know that if my boyfriend did that for me, I would be thrilled. I think most women would appreciate a gift like that.

Of course if that doesn%26#039;t do it for you than you call always fall back on the classic but sweet option of planning a wonderful evening for you and her-- making her dinner, putting on music she likes... the simple act of planning an enjoyable evening together is always a nice gift.

There are lots of other things you could do....

my boyfriend sent me a box of gourmet popcorn last year, that was unique, but SOOO much better than a box of chocolate. I%26#039;m not talking about movie popcorn... gourmet popcorn. YUM.

You could paint her a piece at one of those stores where you go in and paint dishes or ceramics, that could be very sweet....

You could plan a weekend away with her... like a mini-vacation, maybe just escaping to a city nearby for a weekend and staying in a hotel, and then being out doing fun things over the weekend. It%26#039;s almost like traveling... but less expensive and easier to plan.

Best of luck!
