Do you think flowers are an acceptable Christmas gift?

This is what my mum has asked for, but I feel like she should have something to keep.

Do you think flowers are an acceptable Christmas gift?
yes, a big bouquet (Xmas style) and a vase to go with it. (You can never have enough vases).Just an idea. I am sure she will love any present, just spoil her a bit I am sure she%26#039;s worth it.
Reply:You could always get her some good silk flowers so they last.
Reply:Yes, but what about a beautiful flower brooch as well or some velvety artificial ones in their own pot, or perhaps a growing basket of some sort?

what about a lovely bunch of roses and a book of flowers complete with verse or descriptions of the plants and their habitats etc?
Reply:I%26#039;m godmother to my niece (she%26#039;s 3 years old) and every Christmas her mom sends me a huge flower arrangement as a present along with buying me other gifts, but I%26#039;d be satisfied with the flower arrangement alone. I think it%26#039;s a great gift.
Reply:If that%26#039;s what she asked for, then get her flowers. Maybe she doesn%26#039;t want anymore %26quot;stuff%26quot; but wants to appreciate the beauty of flowers in the middle of winter. I like the idea.
Reply:Like, packets of seeds so she can garden? That sounds nices then some ready to die, fresh cut flowers.

A flowering plant would be nice.
Reply:I think you should get your mum a lovely bunch of flowers for Christmas and she will really appreciate it! It sounds like a lovely idea. Also maybe a little something else? Oh and a card, even though it is just a card, she will keep it, and when she is thinking of you she will get the card out and read it, words are powerful! It is also something she can keep.
Reply:I think fllowers are a really nice idea. Some flowers come with vases, so you can keep. This is one of the sets i saw recently at interflora... its good priced comes with the traditional christmas flower, chocolates and a vase to keep.

Reply:I%26#039;d love flowers for Christmas. As people get older, they don%26#039;t want so many possessions. You could get her a little something else as well, perhaps something to eat.
Reply:Its about the thought and getting something someone actually wants..so if thats what she would really like I dont see a problem. Why not get a flowering plant that she can keep in the house and get a really nice pot to keep it in ..then you are both happy!
Reply:if they are what she wants then get her them you can get lovely arrangements made up in a vase so she will still have that when the flowers die........
Reply:yes, it%26#039;s lovely! shows your love and is beautiful :D
Reply:Well how about a plant that will grow year after year. You get some lovely potted plants also.
Reply:You could get her a Bonsai Tree, then she could keep it as they last for years. And they are lovely.
Reply:Flowers are a lovely gift, especially if your Mum has specifically asked for them. What you could do is actually go to the florist, instead of ordering online or by phone, and pick out a nice vase, and when the flowers are gone, she will still have the vase, she can put other flowers in it, and think of you.
Reply:what about a flowering plant?
